Dean Sawyer, MBA – Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors

Dean Sawyer is a serial entrepreneur, healthcare executive and start-up advisor known for commercializing new, innovative healthcare information technologies in the areas of pharmaceutical eMarketing, electronic health records, remote patient monitoring and big data analytics.

Dean is Co-Founder and CEO of Sentrian, the world’s first remote patient intelligence platform leveraging the revolution in biosensors and machine learning with the goal to eliminate all preventable hospitalization. Dean is a Partner at Frost Data Capital, which is transforming the venture capital and incubator model for big data start-ups. Dean also serves as an advisor to Singularity University Labs where he helps startup teams develop successful healthcare business models, raise capital, build healthy leadership teams and execute the lean startup methodology. Previous to leading Sentrian, Dean served as Senior Vice President of Allscripts where he played a pivotal role in growing revenue from zero to more than $180M over six years. Dean was also the Chief Business Development Officer at Physicians Interactive (acquired by Merck) where he helped grow the company from $1M to $32M in revenue over four years. Dean was among the founding executive team at Lathian Health, where he co-authored the business plan that won $5 million in the world’s largest business plan contest.

Dean is a graduate of the inaugural Exponential Medicine Executive Program at Singularity University, earned an MBA from Pepperdine University and a BS in Marketing from the University of the Pacific.

Dr. Jack Kreindler, M.D. Founder, Chairman and Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Jack Kreindler is a physician, physiologist and serial technology entrepreneur. Since 1997, Jack has been instrumental in the design, architecture and leadership of many innovative technology ventures in health care and the social web including Douglas Adams’ (acquired by the BBC) and Vielife (acquired by CIGNA). Whilst still practicing as an Emergency Physician from 2002 to 2006, Jack’s incubator BlueOrange Technologies developed the core technology platform for enterprises and high growth start-ups including VisualDNA (online behavioural analytics), GenieDB (geo-distributed cross-cloud DBaaS) and Dictate IT (UK NHS transcription provider). In 2007 Jack founded CHHP in London’s Harley Street. The Center for Health and Human Performance is renowned for its work with athletes, complex cases and celebrities taking on extreme challenges. The concept for Sentrian in 2012 came out of CHHP’s work tackling complex chronic disease combining world experts, the latest biosensor technology and physiological modelling techniques from the worlds of medicine and elite sport science. Jack lectures internationally on the future of medicine and is a guest expert presenter for CNBC, Sky Sport, BT Sport and the BBC.

Martin S. Kohn, MD, MS, FACEP, FACPE – Chief Medical Scientist

Dr. Kohn’s research work includes healthcare population analytics and the role of expert systems in the clinical decision process. Dr. Kohn is a board-certified emergency physician with over 30 years of hospital-based practice and management experience. He is an alumnus of MIT, Harvard Medical School, Stanford and NYU, and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American College of Physician Executives. He is board certified in Clinical Informatics through the American Board of Preventive Medicine. He is on the editorial board of the Journal of Emergency Medicine and has published multiple articles and book chapters on clinical, technical and management subjects.Prior to joining Sentrian, Dr. Kohn was the Chief Medical Scientist for Care Delivery Systems in IBM Research where he led IBM’s support for the transformation of healthcare, including development of personalized care, outcomes-based models and payment reform, including the use of the Watson supercomputer in healthcare. He speaks frequently on the issues of healthcare transformation, the role of information technology, the Patient Centered Medical Home and clinical decision support. Dr. Kohn is a co-author of IBM’s white paper “Patient-Centered Medical Home – What, Why and How.” Dr. Kohn was previously in IBM Healthcare Strategy and Change, which helped healthcare systems and clinicians optimize process and make best use of healthcare information technology.

Lance Myers, PhD – Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Myers is a pioneer and technology leader in body worn bio-sensors, remote patient monitoring and advanced analytics. He has been actively involved in physiological and biometric monitoring research and development for more than 15 years holding key technology leadership positions within the medical device and analytics industries. Prior to joining Sentrian he was a Founder and the Chief Science Officer of VivoSense., a leader in analytic software for body worn sensor systems. Prior to VivoSense he led the Physiological Systems and Interfaces Division of Archinoetics where he was responsible for the creation and commercialization of ambulatory physiological monitoring systems. At VivoMetrics he led the engineering team that pioneered the worlds first multi-channel, wearable ambulatory measurement system, the LifeShirt. During his career, Dr Myers was directly responsible for developing algorithms to provide researchers and clinicians with novel bio-markers to assess the efficacy of new treatments in clinical trials. Dr Myers was also co-founder of ID Metrix, a South African distributor of biometric monitoring solutions. Before leaving academia, Dr Myers held research positions at University College Dublin in Ireland and at the internationally acclaimed Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. He received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, South Africa and has published more than 30 scientific publications, including 2 book chapters, on subjects that include physiological signal analysis, statistical machine learning, pattern recognition, and mathematical modeling. He is an invited editor for the prestigious DSP journal, a senior IEEE member and holds ten patents in the field of non-invasive physiological monitoring and predictive analytics.
