DISRUPTIVE TECHNOLOGY

Sentrian Invited to Exhibit in Web Summit’s Exclusive START Program

Developer of the world’s first remote patient intelligence platform will be showcased as one of the world’s highest-potential and most disruptive young companies at invitation-only event

Aliso Viejo, Calif. (November 4, 2014) – Sentrian (formerly Jointly Health), the remote patient intelligence company aspiring to eliminate all preventable hospitalization, announced today it has been recognized as one of the world’s highest-potential and most disruptive technology companies through an invitation to participate in the exclusive START program at Web Summit, Europe’s largest technology event, November 4-6 in Dublin.

The START program is a global gathering of the highest-potential and most disruptive young technology companies from around the world across all industries. Prior START Program recognition companies include Uber, Vine, Nest, Dropbox and Stripe among others.

Sentrian was invited to showcase its remote patient intelligence platform, which helps prevent avoidable hospital admissions in patients with complex chronic diseases by leveraging the revolution in remote biosensors and machine learning to detect problems before they become acute. The company is marketing its platform in the US, UK and Canadian markets.

“In the UK, we recognise the benefits that digital health technology can offer our population,” said Professor Tony Young PhD, FRCS (Urol), the recently appointed National Clinical Director for Innovation for the National Health Service in England. “We want to become early adopters of emerging innovations in this space, allowing us to improve the quality of care we provide and patient experience and outcomes. Reducing unplanned hospitalizations for patients with long-term chronic conditions is an area where technology could have real impact and we look forward to working with companies in this area who can help us reach this goal.”

Sentrian Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Dean Sawyer commented, “Web Summit is one of the premier technology events in the world. Being invited to participate in the START program is both a tremendous honor and tremendous validation of the potential of our remote patient intelligence technology to improve the lives of millions of patients with complex chronic disease. The attendees are a virtual Who’s Who of movers, shakers and influencers in the technology world. We are thrilled to be able to showcase how our technology can help patients live healthier and happier at home.”

Participants in the START program are given the rare opportunity to network with the highest caliber investors, media and tech CEOs in small breakout events and individual meetings set up by the conference’s organizers. Companies attending include Apple, Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Coca-Cola, Samsung, Disney, Dell and Amazon. U2 frontman Bono, former Apple chief executive John Sculley, and Facebook’s first investor, Paypal co-founder Peter Thiel are among the event’s speakers.

The START program will also provide Sentrian with a high-visibility venue in which to introduce its new brand identity. Formerly known as Jointly Health, the company developed the new name to better underscore its mission of remotely collecting a wide-variety of biometric data from patients with complex chronic disease and then “standing sentry” over those patients to identify early trends so clinicians can address them before they become serious problems requiring hospitalization.
